Top Dental Hygiene Tips For Little Smiles
- Have your child pick out their own toothbrush and toothpaste. There are many kinds of fun toothbrushes to pick from; some of them glow, have their favorite characters or even spin! In addition to this, there are several tasty flavors of toothpaste made just for kids.
- Your child should brush twice a day for at least two minutes each time. You can even make it fun by playing music or singing a silly song while they brush!
- Brushing in the morning and bedtime is ideal. Have them use a pea-size amount of toothpaste. They should brush every part of their teeth with tiny circles.
- Help your child floss at least once a day! This is very important to get any food particles out from between their teeth.
- Don’t allow them to eat too many candies and other sweets. The sugar will stick to their teeth and can cause cavities!
- Kids can go to the dentist as early as one year old. The younger you take them, the better. To keep their smile clean and healthy, bring them back every six months.
